Day 1 You will arrive at Johannesburg International Airport, from where you will catch a flight to Windhoek. At Windhoek International Airport you will be met and transferred by private vehicle to Hilltop House. You will spend the night at Hilltop House with breakfast included. Day 2 After breakfast you will be collected from Hilltop House by private vehicle, and transferred to Eros Airport in Windhoek, where you will embark on the 'Best of Namibia Wing Safari'. This is a very exclusive fly-in safari which takes in all the highlights of Namibia. The average number of participants on this safari is 4 (the maximum is 8), and the group enjoys the use of a private aircraft and pilot for the entire safari. This gives wonderful flexibility in terms of schedule, and there is absolutely no time wasted in transit as the plane flies directly between camps; this maximizes time participating in activities and relaxing at the lodges. Your first stop is Sossusvlei Wilderness Camp, roughly an hour's flight from Windhoek. While on safari at all the camps, your daily schedule will look something like this: 6:00 Wake-up with light breakfast of tea, coffee and snacks (at Sossusvlei this will probably be a bit earlier, because the guides try to get you to the dunes by sunrise - the early morning is truly worth it as this is quite a magical spectacle, watching the dunes change colour with the light). 6:30 Morning activity (game drive, walk, boating, or canoeing, depending on the camp) 10:00/10:30 Brunch back at the lodge (again, this is a bit different at Sossusvlei where you will enjoy a picnic brunch under a Camelthorn tree at Sossusvlei) Guests at leisure in the early afternoon 3:00 Tea 3:30 Afternoon activity 7:30 Return from activity 8:00 Dinner Days 2 to 4 You will spend 2 nights at Sossusvlei on a full board basis (including accommodation in a luxury chalet, all meals, activities, park fees, drinks on activities and house wines with dinner, and the services of a professional guide). Day 4 After your morning activity and brunch, your plane departs for Walvis Bay. You will fly via a scenic route, over the dunes of the Namib and Sossusvlei, and on to the Atlantic Coast. On reaching the coast, the plane turns northwards, and guests enjoy spectacular views as they fly over the Skeleton Coast. At Walvis Bay, guests disembark and enjoy a boat trip into this sheltered bay to see dolphins, seals, and the myriad colorful birds that reside here. After the boat cruise, guests are treated to a wonderful seafood lunch on the beach, before being driven to the charming town of Swakopmund (about 25 minutes away). After a brief tour of the town, you board your plane again, and fly further up the Skeleton Coast, over the Cape Cross seal colony, before turning east at the mouth of the Huab River. Your destination is Damaraland Camp. Days 4 to 6 You will spend 2 nights at Damaraland Camp on a full board basis (including accommodation in a luxury tent, all meals, activities, park fees, drinks on activities and house wines with dinner, and the services of a professional guide). Day 6 After your morning activity and brunch, you will fly to Ongava Lodge, directly adjacent to Etosha National Park. Days 6 to 8 You will spend 2 nights at Ongava Game Lodge on a full board basis (including accommodation in a luxury chalet, all meals, activities, park fees, drinks on activities and house wines with dinner, and the services of a professional guide and tracker). Day 8 After your morning activity and brunch, you will fly back to Windhoek, from where you will catch a scheduled flight to Johannesburg. At Johannesburg airport you will be met and transferred by private vehicle to River Meadow Manor. You will overnight at River Meadow Manor with breakfast included. Day 9 After breakfast you will be collected and transferred to Johannesburg International Airport by private vehicle. You will catch a flight to Skukuza, in the great Kruger National Park. At Skukuza you will be met by a representative from MalaMala Private Game Reserve who will drive to Kirkman's Camp within this world famous reserve. Days 9 to 13 You will spend 4 nights at MalaMala Kirkman's Camp on a full board basis (including accommodation in a luxury chalet, all meals, activities, park fees, and the services of a professional guide and tracker). Day 13 After your morning activity and brunch, you will be driven by your guide back to Skukuza airport, from where you will board a flight to Johannesburg International Airport, arriving with plenty of time to spare before your return flight to the USA. You will bid farewell to Africa, at the end of another great African adventure. Back to Index of Sample Itineraries To find out more about this sample itinerary, or to start
