Day 1

You will be met at Johannesburg airport on your arrival by a representative of Wilderness Safaris, our local partners. They will welcome you to southern Africa, and go through your itinerary again, giving you the opportunity to ask any questions. You will then be taken in a private transfer to River Meadow Manor in Irene (about 45 minutes outside of Jo'burg and 30 minutes from the airport). You will spend the night at River Meadow Manor with a delicious dinner and breakfast included.

Day 2

This morning you will be collected from River Meadow Manor and taken by private transfer back to the airport to catch your flight to Maun, on the fringe of the Okavango Delta. At Maun you will be met by your pilot who is going to fly you in a light aircraft to Sandibe Camp.

Days 2 to 4

You will spend 3 nights at Sandibe on a fully inclusive basis (including accommodation, all meals, all activities, the services of your professional guide and tracker, all local drinks, and laundry).

As a guideline, your daily schedule on safari would look something like this (this would apply more or less at all the camps and lodges on your itinerary):

6:00 Wake-up with light breakfast of tea, coffee and snacks

6:30 Morning activity (game-drive, walk, mekoro, boating, canoeing, depending on the specific camp)

10:00/10:30 Brunch back at the lodge

Guests at leisure in the early afternoon

3:00 Tea

3:30 Afternoon activity (game-drive, walk, mekoro, boating, canoeing, depending on the specific camp)

7:30 Return from activity

8:00 Dinner

Day 4

You will be collected from Sandibe and flown (again by charter in a light aircraft) to Kwetsani Camp in the heart of the Okavango Delta. In this way, you barely skip a beat on safari, as time spent travelling between destinations is minimized.

Day 4 to 6

You will send 2 nights at Kwetsani Camp on a fully inclusive basis (including accommodation, all meals, all activities, the services of your professional guide and tracker, all local drinks, and laundry).

Day 6

You will be collected from Jao and transferred to Lebala Camp on the giant Kwando concession (again, by charter in a light aircraft).

Day 6 to 9

You will spend 3 nights at Lebala on a fully inclusive basis (including accommodation, all meals, all activities, the services of your professional guide and tracker, all local drinks, and laundry).

Day 9

Today you will be collected from Lebala and flown to Kasane (a small town in the north-east corner of Botswana). Here you will be collected and driven through the border post, where you will be assisted with border formalities. Once into Zimbabwe, your driver will make for Victoria Falls, where you will be dropped off at Ilala Lodge. [An alternative would be The Victoria Falls Hotel].

Day 9 to 11

You will spend 2 nights at Ilala Lodge in Deluxe suites, with breakfast included. On the afternoon of June 6 you will do a private elephant back safari. The rest of your time will be at your own discretion, and can be used to marvel at the falls, partake in the many activities on offer in and around Victoria Falls, and just relax.

Day 11

Today you will be collected and transferred by vehicle to Matetsi River Lodge, in a private concession right on the banks of the great Zambezi River.

Day 11 to 15

You will spend 4 nights at Matetsi River Lodge on a fully inclusive basis (including accommodation, all meals, all activities, the services of your professional guide and tracker, all local drinks, and laundry).

Day 15

This morning you will be collected and transferred to Victoria Falls train station by road. Here you will be met by representative from the Blue Train, who will assist you with your luggage and with boarding the train. The train departs the station at 10h00.

Day 15 to 17

You will spend 2 glorious nights aboard the Blue Train, on a fully-inclusive basis (including accommodation, all meals, the 24 hour service of your private buttler, all drinks, and laundry).

Day 17

The Blue Train arrives in Pretoria at around 09h30. You will be met off the train and taken on a full day private tour of Pretoria and a nearby diamond mine. Your tour includes all entrance fees as well as lunch. After your tour you will be dropped off at Johannesburg international airport with plenty of time to check in for your flight home. At this point you will bid Africa farewell. Hopefully a piece of your heart will remain behind, and will keep you coming back to discover more about this beautiful continent.
