Unlike most operators selling tours to Africa, Liyatshwa Safaris offers a genuine tailor-made service. We do not try to fit clients into pre-packaged tours that come closest to approximating their interests, we start from scratch and, together with the traveler, create their ideal itinerary (matching both interests and budget). Below is a selection of some of the itineraries that we have designed for previous clients, with some background on the clients' interests and specific requests.

Sample Itinerary One

This itinerary was created for a group of eight friends who wanted the ultimate southern African safari. They wanted to see as many of the region's greatest highlights as possible in the most time efficient manner - as such, they will be hiring a private plane and pilot for the duration of their trip. They asked us to accompany them (although this itinerary could very easily be arranged for an independent group of travelers).

Sample Itinerary Two

This is another itinerary that was designed for a group of friends travelling together. They wanted to combine a luxury safari lodge in the Kruger Park with Botswana's Okavango Delta, and South Africa's Cape of Good Hope. All members of the group are scuba divers, and they were very keen to go diving with great white sharks along the Cape coast. Again, time was an important factor for these travelers, so for some legs of their journey they hired a private plane and pilot.

Sample Itinerary Three

This was an itinerary that we created in conjunction with a family of four (mother, father, and two daughters). They wanted an holistic experience, highlighting the variety of southern Africa - from the Cape of Good Hope, through the Namib Desert, the Victoria Falls, and ending with safari at a luxury lodge in the Kruger Park. They also wanted to experience a variety of modes of transport, from one of the world's most luxurious trains to self-driving in a 4x4 through the Namib Desert.

Sample Itinerary Four

This itinerary was again designed together with a group of friends whose primary interest was safari and game-viewing. They opted for the vast unspoiled wilderness and exclusivity of Botswana, and wanted to stay at the most stylish and comfortable camps. They also wanted to visit Victoria Falls, and end their trip with a journey aboard one of the region's great luxury trains.

Sample Itinerary Five

This was another safari itinerary, designed for a mature single lady traveler. All her life she dreamed of an African safari, and finally decided that it was time. None of her friends could be persuaded to travel with her, but this did not hold her back. She also opted for the vast unspoiled wilderness and exclusivity of Botswana (in combination with the Victoria Falls), and wanted to combine a variety of habitat types and accommodations.

Sample Itinerary Six

Another single lady traveler. She had been on a Botswana safari previously, and fallen totally in love with southern Africa. For two years she saved up for her return, and this time wanted to experience Namibia in combination with the best game-viewing the Kruger Park.

Sample Itinerary Seven

An international group of friends who get together every year to do a special trip somewhere in the world. This time they chose South Africa, and the theme was South African food, wine and wildlife. They wanted private 'behind-the-scenes' tours of some of South Africa's oldest and most esteemed wine-estates, as well as some special gourmet evenings. They wanted to minimize on travel time, and chose to concentrate on the Cape and 'Garden Route'.

Sample Itinerary Eight

A romantic birthday present planned by a husband for his wife. We worked together with the husband (unbeknown to the wife) to plan a secret birthday trip for this couple. They didn't have much time, and wanted to focus on the Victoria Falls, and one of the region's great luxury trains.

Sample Itinerary Nine

A honeymoon couple who wanted to combine a romantic safari destination with some time spent relaxing together on a secluded sub-tropical beach on the Indian Ocean. Both are involved in philanthropy in the USA, and were interested in the cultural aspects of eco-tourism at the places where they would be staying.

Sample Itinerary Ten

Another honeymoon couple - post graduate students from the UK. They were on a fairly tight budget, and wanted to have an holistic African experience, combining the romance and beauty of Cape Town and the winelands, with the nature, culture, and history of South Africa.

Sample Itinerary Elven

Yet another honeymoon couple (southern Africa is a VERY romantic destination). They wanted to combine Cape Town and the winelands with a luxury lodge in the Kruger Park, and a stunningly beautiful tented safari camp.
